Shizuka Tachibana: TDPP-08

For tonight's look into the world of Japanese BBW AV, let's continue with Pocha-Bara / Angela's Pocharinko series, skipping ahead to the eighth video, released in January 2008. Our star tonight is the plump and homey Shizuka Tachibana whom we first looked at back in September 2012. This video, like yesterday's lists Shin'ichi Saiga (才賀真一) as director, cinematographer and editor. We suspect Saiga to be an alias of pioneering Japanese BBW photographer Jun'ichi Natsui.

The first scene consists of an interview. Shizuka's a smiling, charming lady and it's a pleasure to watch her and anticipate seeing her bodily charms on full display. The interview starts out with her dressed, she disrobes, then continues in the nude. She's very chubby, with a big belly, but her legs are not the best, rather skimpy for a girl of her bulk. The camera work is fine in the early part of the interview-- just a stationary shot of our model in full view. After she takes her clothes, however, the camera roaming and zooming in on Shizuka's body-- much as any guy's eye probably would, of course, but in a video this quickly becomes distracting. For long stretches of time all you see is a screen full of skin...

Shizuka takes a bubble bath in the next section. Bath scenes are always nice, and a staple of erotic photography and cinema... but Shizuka uses a lot of bubbles... and I mean a LOT of bubbles. For fifteen minutes we don't really get to see anything but her face in a sea of bubbles, and the occasional flash of an areola. The director finally gets the bright idea of having her get out of the tub. At this point we get a very quick view of her body, and she covers up her boobs with bubbles again! One begins to suspect there's a reason she's not showing us all... though we've already seen everything and there are no obvious scars, stretch-marks, moles or other blemishes... Maybe she's just shy about her body... After 20 minutes of this, there is a cut to a young man beginning to wash off Shizuka, and we think, "At last we're really going to see her", but this lasts less than one minute... At this point, we begin to get the idea something is wrong... This is either a very amateurish production, or there is some reason we are being intentionally prevented from enjoying Shizuka's form...

A mild bed sex scene with the mysterious young man follows. It is adequately done, though much body close-ups are again over-used. Another disrobing / sex scene in bed follows, with the same young man. This one is done better, is a little more interesting, with face-sitting and Shizuka on top...

Next, about an hour and a half into the video, comes another teaser: Shizuka is showering off, fully nude, and all visible to us. We think NOW we're going to really get to sink our teeth into her... but no, it ends after another minute... Another interview, with Shizuka fully nude on a couch, concludes the video proper.

After this comes the most interesting feature of the video. It's a ten-minute series of still shots mostly taken from the preceding hour and a half, a few of which seem to be new poses. As a fan of still images, I enjoyed this, and I took screenshots of each one to include with my files on this video. I'm not sure if this is the most effective use of a DVD, but it is a little different, and I got some use out of it... A half-hour preview of other titles in the series follows, giving us looks at a couple more of these early Japanese BBW titles we would especially like to see.

This video was not nearly as enjoyable as yesterday's in the same series and from the same director. First, Shizuka Tachibana is not as cute as Ren Nagasawa. Her rear-end and legs are not the best, and she doesn't have the prettiest face in the JAV industry, but I don't think that's the problem here. She is charming, cheerful, and cute enough, to make fine viewing for fans Asian BBWs. She's got a huge pair of boobs, and a big, soft belly, all of which I looked forward to enjoying before I watched the video. The fault here, I think, lies with director Saiga. There's not much to keep us interested here, just Shizuka on a couch, in the bath, and in bed. But volume Six was not any more varied in terms of setting. Yet in that one he gave us a fine, simple, straight-forward look at Ren-chan. In this video he pans and zooms incessantly (not as bad as some Hollywood action films today, but bad enough), and seems to consciously avoid giving us too much of a look at the full Shizuka in all her glory. I'll have to give this one a mid-negative recommendation... pending a more formal form of rating I should probably come up with soon...

Shizuka starred in at least one more video that I'm aware of, Bomber Boob Voluptuous Angel: P-Cup Shizuka Tachibana released in November 2008. This later video was Angela's entry in the 2009 AV Grand Prix, which, I hope, is an indication that it's better done. I'll keep my eyes open for that video, and look forward to visiting with Shizuka again.

Ren Nagasawa: TDPP-06

In a post this same month last year I promised a more in-depth look at one of the rarest and loveliest BBWs I've come across: Ren Nagasawa. This girl just entrances me-- I could stare into that face, for hours. Her figure is just the way I like them too. Altogether, she's got the kind of earthy, plain look that I've always loved. I've never been attracted to the glamour-pusses...

Tonight we'll review one of her DVDs in which Ren-chan favors us with a look at much more than just that lovely face. Chubby Paradise: Pocharinko vol. 6: Ren Nagasawa (Pocchari paradise: Pocharinko vol.6: Nagasawa Ren) is the sixth volume in Pocha-Bara / Angela's Pocharinko series. It was released in November 2007 when Ren-chan was 20 years old. Not being fluent in Japanese, and not living in the country, it's difficult to figure out how these AV companies and personnel relate to each other. In a post in September last year glancing over the second five videos in the Chubby-Chubby Heaven series, we came across the BBW director using the name Shin'ichi Saiga (才賀真一), which we suspect to be an alias of Jun'ichi Natsui, the pioneering BBW photographer on whose career I tried to find information in the first post on that series. Shin'ichi Saiga is the director of this video.

Ren-chan stands a compact 154 cm (5'1⁄2") with a 125-100-115(cm) / 49-39-45(in) figure, sporting a Japanese J-cup bra. She weighs a solid 98 kg (216 lb), and special mention is made in publicity of her 72-cm (28 inch) thighs. Being a leg man (among other things), I can't resist taking a close look at these assets, above, and they are gorgeous.

Her eyes are also mentioned for their "exotic" beauty. As much a fan of Asian femininity as I am, I can't see how Ren-chan's eyes are any more exotic than other Asian eyes (and the "exoticism", of course, is part of the attraction to me). My wife always complains about her "small" Asian eyes, and smirks at Asian actresses/models who have that kind of an eye shape. (But those are the most attractive ones to me, of course!) So perhaps Ren's eyes have a slightly larger, Western look to them? It doesn't seem so to me, but then I'm not Asian...

The video is quite simple, but pleasingly so. It's not just a straight series of sex scenes-- boom-boom-boom. It's more like a sexy day with a lovely lady. It starts out with Ren-chan smiling coyly at us and posing in the garden. We move into the house, where she gradually and shyly disrobes for us. I always find this to be fascinating-- a plump, plain-looking lady slowly revealing her charms. This takes up the first twenty-or-so minutes of the video.

The next five minutes have Ren-chan disrobing again, this time in a Japanese onsen. She's more confident this time, undresses faster, and flashes us a little more nudity bit by bit, even showing us some crotch this time-- scrambled with pixels, naturally.

Ren-chan gets still a little more adventurous in the next section, chatting in her robe with a gentleman, and then allowing him to disrobe her and play with her body. It's hard to tell who is enjoying this more, since Ren-chan giggles and laughs very pleasingly throughout.

In the penultimate scene, Ren-chan goes as far as she's going to go here. She has sex with her male partner from the previous scene. In keeping with her rather innocent persona (at least in this video), it's all very mild and conservative, nothing very extreme at all. And that's just fine with me.

The video concludes with a bathing scene. Ren-chan's partner oils her up and washes her off in the tub, and Ren-chan bids her viewers a sweet and happy good-bye.

I liked this video a lot. The main feature, as always in these AVs, was the actress, Ren Nagasawa. I find her irresistible: Cute, slightly shy, chubby, and well-padded everywhere I like. Besides that, the video has a humble, straight-forward simplicity. No fake distorting lenses. No constant zooming. No incest fantasies. No ropes & bondage or sado-masochism. Just a sweet-looking, young girl flirting shyly, showing some nudity to the viewer, and engaging in a mild sex scene before showering off. Perhaps it's too tame for some viewers, but for those like me who really just want to look at the girl, I recommend this video highly.

Oh, just one more thing. Given our ass-fixation this week, I suppose you're all wondering one thing: What does her butt look like? Well, dear reader, take a good look above!

Chubby-Chubby Heaven, #6-10

After a very nice, refreshing morning, I am now ready to embark on our second visit with Jun'ichi Natsui's Chubby-Chubby Heaven series. I notice, this week, that these covers are identical to some used in the The Goddesses of Fertility series section of the Pocharinko series. The director of these videos is named 才賀真一 (Shin'ichi Saiga?). A Pochadama review of one of these compilations (significantly totaling 120 minutes, with pictures of four covers-- the series under consideration here are 40 minutes each) calls Saiga a "Hôman cameraman" (豊満カメラマン - "Cameraman of the voluptuous/full-figured/abundant"). So I suspect Saiga to be an alias for Natsui. Our first visit, #6 in the series (RP006), is with Reiko Toyomi (豊美玲子). Despite a very strikingly inviting body, she seems to be another model who hides her face. Her AV-Channel profile gives her measurements as 92-88-96(cm), with a seemingly under-reported F-cup. The disproportionately smaller cup-size reporting seen in models in this series is further indication that this an AV series early in the "kyonyû boom" era-- 1995 according to Natsui's old site. (The "kyonyû boom" is supposed to have started after Kimiko Matsuzaka's debut in 1989.)The star of #7 (RP-007), Asuka Mikuriya (御来屋あすか) is another high-quality model. Despite the nice boozominess she displays, her Arzon profile credits her as a mere G-cup, giving her measurements as 120-100-110(cm). This seeming under-reporting also indicates that cup-size reporting has become increasingly inflated over the years. She'd probably be called an I-cup at least today...With the eighth video (RP-008) we come to the second two-part appearance in the series, this one starring Yayoi Kiyone (清音やよい), who, appearing to be in the family way, records measurements as: 92(F-cup)-80-90(cm).#9 is the second half of Yayoi Kiyone's performance.And we conclude this week's outing with the well-rounded lovely, Rumi Hanawa (花輪るみ). Another busty beauty recording a then-impressive G-cup, her av-channel measurements are 110-95-115(cm).
