Yôko Koizumi, The Embrace of Motherly Love: MR-154

Tonight we take a look at a little rarity I came across in my Web explorations which stars Japanese BBW legend Yôko Koizumi. I've been aware of most of these videos I review ever since they were first release and have seen their video covers and screen shots or stills. But I only became aware of tonight's video once I viewed the video itself. The producer of the video-- Moon Right Studio-- is still in operation, but does not list the video at its site. The only cover image I've found of this video looks like a VHS, and the recording is also of VHS-quality.

The title is Debu bijo: Bosei ai no hôyô (デブ美女 母性愛の抱擁; "Fat Beauty: The Embrace of Motherly Love"; MR-154), and it is the thirteenth release in the Kyohô (Debusen) series (巨豊１３（デブ専）). I don't know what the "Debusen" after the series title means, but it's possible it's related to Alpha International's "Debusen Club" videos whose video covers we looked at in July 2012. Yôko Koizumi was in the 17th video in that series, but the images on the cover look similar, but not exactly like this video. For one thing, the male in Kyohô 13 wears glasses, but in FDS-17, he doesn't seem to. Another difference is that the "Debusen Club" spells "Debu" with hiragana (でぶ専クラブ), while Kyohô uses katakana (デブ専). Regardless, I've established a release date of late 1999 for the Debusen Club videos, and Yôko looks about the same age in them as she does in this Kyohô video.

I've known of magnificent Yôko ever since I first got online full-time-- about 1998, but I've had a lot of trouble trying to figure out exactly when she was performing. Since her videos are older releases, the release dates I find for them tend to be later re-issues. And because she was a performer in a then-unpopular genre-- BBW-- I find little information on her at more fan-based sites, like blogs (such as this one, whose main interest seems to be Yôko) or Japanese Wikipedia, which has entries on thousands of AV performers, but not Yôko... She was the main star of Akira Takatsuki's The Bakunyû hôman musume series, which uses the English sub-title "The Bomber Fat Girl" on its covers. The earliest release date I can find for this series is 2005, but it's certainly older than that-- late '90s at least.

Yôko's AV-Channel profile combined with some video information give her statistics as standing 160cm, with measurements of 120(U-85; L-cup)-105-110, and weighs a mere 90 kg (198 lb), which seems low for a woman of her bulk. In the credits to this video, she is said to be 27 years of age.

The Content (Warning: Spoilers!)

This is a compact, 40-minute video with no story, simply a series of scenes. It starts out with a section of about 8 1/2 minutes which is a kind of a montage, alternating clips of Yôko walking through a neighborhood with clips of her sitting up in bed, nude. The nude scenes focus a lot on her stupendous chest, at the expense of showing her whole body-- her head, especially, is usually cut off in these images. But since they are such brief clips, and they alternate with views of the whole lady-- clothed-- walking, I didn't find this gimmick particularly annoying. This section is accompanied by a rather pleasant blues instrumental-- nothing extraordinary, but it gives the whole section a laid-back, enjoyable atmosphere.

After some brief dialogue with her male partner, there follows an extended scene of about 20 minutes, during which he kisses, sucks and slobbers all over Ms. Koizumi's abundant body. She oohs and squeals in a most satisfactory manner-- though that could be a voice-double, since it doesn't quite sound like her usual voice.

Images of Koizumi's performances are sometimes surprisingly hardcore for an earlier performer-- unfogged pubic hair and genitalia can sometimes be seen. This might be an indication that her work was "underground", or that I am just wrong in my guess as to when she was performing, and she is more recent, under current, more lax Japanese censorship standards. In any case, we do get some brief flashes of unfogged pubic hair during this scene.

At about 25 minutes, there follows another strangely mixed section of two scenes intercut together. In one part we see in clip-form, Yôko-san begins rubbing her ginormous bosoms on her guy in the shower. This scene is juxtaposed with a scene of her stripping him in bed, and having sex.

The bed scene takes over, and Yôko gives him fellatio. The man's genitals are mercifully fogged here. Straight, but rather mundane and repetitive sex follows.

Once he has finished his job, the ending credits roll as our male stand-in falls asleep in satisfied exhaustion on one of Yôko's big, fluffy natural pillows.

The 40 minute main video finished, we get five additional minutes of previews of other Yôko Koizumi appearances in the Kyohô series. The above clip from Kyohô #8 (MR-128) looks especially intriguing. Big, old flouncy-bouncy Yôko runs and does a dive, giving her viewers the perfect way to use the Slow-motion function of their video player.

The Opinion

This is a basic, no-nonsense little soft-porn-video, no doubt from the earlier days of the artform. It gives us plenty of good looks at the model in bed, and walking around clothed. The nudity and sex are all pretty tame, but stimlating enough. The only unusual feature of this video are the two montage-like segments, with two different things going on at once, intercut into one. Overdone, this could be annoying, since this does not work as a plot device to enhance tension-- as intercutting is used in regular films-- because there is no plot. But it is not used too much, so it makes an interesting break from the monotony that threatens to overtake the more extended sex scenes. Besides the first six minutes, the music in the rest of the video isn't as enjoyable-- peppy, repetitive, bland pop which emphasizes the bland and repetitive nature of the sex scenes.

Final Verdict

Model: Yôko Koizumi is a top-notch model for fans of Asian BBWs. She is very big-- especially for the early days in which she worked. She is almost too big and flabby for my taste, and a prominent caesarian scar does her no favors. But she is an enthusiastic and cheerful performer, which gives her a warm, motherly character adding to her physical charms.

Video: High. Solidly and professionally made, without distracting camera tricks. It does nothing but the display of the model's anatomy-- which is plenty, and is appreciated-- but it also lacks anything extra that would make it of highest quality. Check out this little video if you've got a craving to look at a really big Asian girl in action, but not if you want anything more than just that.

Plumper Angels

Tonight let's go back and look at some history of BBW admiration in Japan. In my unrelenting research, I recently came across some slim evidence of a periodical put out by Eiwa Publications (英和出版社) from December 1999 through December 2002. Entitled Hôman ten'nyo (豊満天女 - "Plumper Angels"), it consisted of six issues plus one "Deluxe" volume. The motto of the magazine is "Watashi no niku..." (わたしの肉 - "...my flesh"), with a variation on each issue, such as "Watashi no niku o anata ni ageru" (わたしの肉をあなたにあげる - "I give you my flesh").

Volume one (豊満天女; ISBN: 9784901102803) was released in December 1999. I cannot find listings of contents or models for any issues of this magazine, but the cover-girl for the first volume appears to be Yôko Koizumi, who was omnipresent in the small Japanese BBW industry of that era. The cover proudly boasts over 4,000 kg of woman-flesh.

Volume two (豊満天女 Vol.2; ISBN: 4899860412 / 9784899860419) was released in October 2000, and features another popular early Japanese BBW star: 160 kg Anna Watarai (渡会あんな).

The cover of Volume three (豊満天女 Vol.3; ISBN: 4899860668 / 978-4899860662) features the prettiest girl in the run of the series, to my eye, and one that I'm sure I've seen before, but whose name I can't think of right now. I'll add it later if it comes to me. 32 pages of plumper pulchritude are promised.

Volume four (豊満天女 Vol.4; ISBN: 4899861117 / 978-4899861119) was released in May 2001.

Volume five (豊満天女 Vol.5; ISBN: 9784899861591) was released in December 2001.

...and Volume six (豊満天女　ＶＯＬ．６; ISBN: 4899863004 / 978-4899863007) in December 2002. I can't identify the last three cover girls. A "Deluxe" issue (豊満天女デラックス) was released in May 2002. I can find neither information nor an image of this volume.
This is all the kind of stuff that makes me yearn to go on a used-book hunt through Tokyo... Maybe a university research grant would fund such an expedition? Until then, we'll just have to imagine the pocchari pleasure that must have been available in this fine publication...

Horny Fat Woman series, #16-20

This week I've been devoting all my online time to the Pink Film project at IMDb. I've submitted dozens of new films, and linked dozens more posters, print reviews and English titles to existing film entries. Unfortunately my increased activity in this area means I have to neglect this fun blog, as well as my Boobpedia work, for a while. I have made several discoveries of new activity in the busty/BBW Asian lady world, so I'll try to go back and make daily entries for this week later on. But in the meantime let's keep our weekly date with those Horny Fat Women! AV-Channel gives the release dates for videos #16-#18 as October 3, 2005, #19 December 9, 2005 and #20 December 13, 2005. However release dates for previous entries in the series from Arzon would indicate that these videos were originally released in the early 2000s. Sit back and enjoy!

Though I can't make out her name on the cover to FDS-16 in the video's interviewer says her name-- which I also can't quite make out. It sounds like "Nako-chan", but other English sites say "Natsuki", which is probably correct... The VHS cover tells us the lady stands 170cm tall, weighs 140kg, and has measurements of 136-98-138cm.
FDS-17, above, gives us our first celebrity spotting for this series: early Japanese BBW legend, Yoko Koizumi. Though I don't see her name on the VHS cover, she is easily recognizable, and her name is given in the AV-Channel entry. My suspicion is that all of the models in this series were soapland girls. Yoko and Anna Watarai (who appears later in the series) were the rare ones who also had something of a video career. At least one soapland catered to BBW-admirers as early as the early 1980s, as evidenced by a magazine I purchased back then, though I don't know of any BBW videos in this era. I'll upload a scan of the early BBW soapland ad later on if I can find it... but I digress... on with the show!

The VHS cover lists the model of FDS-18 as 18 years old, standing 163cm, with measurements of 130(F)-130-133cm.

The only personal detail I can make out about the model of FDS-19 is something to do with a "Terekura" or "Telephone Club" i.e., phone sex, at 17 years of age-- perhaps she was a phone sex operator then...

The only thing I can make out about the model of FDS-20, based on the interview is "Shifu" mentioned right in mid-sentence at the beginning of the video. I think that is her name. And she says that she weighs 120kg...

Dekkappai's Plumper Games!

My son dragged me to see The Hunger Games. I went in having no idea what it was about and not knowing what to expect. I began to realize it was supposed to be a (serious) political satire, but couldn't grasp its targets until it dawned on me what the cultural touchstones were here: Reality shows + Iraq = the United States of the past 20-30 years or so = the culture from which I have become so alienated I feel like a foreigner in my own country... Add to that the most nauseating of new camera techniques: constantly moving shaky-cam, random close-ups obscuring the action (during one fight, I didn't realize until it was over that the opponent was a girl), etc. And top it off with ludicrously obvious plot holes, glaring inconsistencies in character and motivation, heavy-handed audience manipulation, a stifling lack of humor, and I had one miserable time at the theater today. I could mention the obvious (and much better) sources stolen/borrowed from to concoct this social commentary (Lord of the Flies, Battle Royale, Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery", etc., etc., etc.), but that's an awfully cheap trick, one too low even for me... My son liked it, and I guess it would speak to a brooding teeny-bopper, which I can remember being once, about a century ago, so I watered down my complaints for him during our post-film discussion. Two stars out of Ten for me. Much higher, probably, if you are a young teen.


Given my taste in ladies, however, and the title of the film, it could have been much, much worse: Imagine if it had been a story about pouty, snotty anorexic models. I would have probably run out of the theater. As an antidote to that appalling vision, please join me in a visit with some lovely ladies of the past who, thankfully, appear not to have recently suffered from long bouts of hunger. And without further ado, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you now The Anti-Hunger Games, Dekkappai's Plumper Games!

IZM's Erika (right) made only a couple of original DVDs for the studio (there is a more recent one which appears to be made of old material), but those few made an impact.






The diminutive Usagi Minagi (left), with her long background in the field is an essential pleasure in any discussion of the Japanese BBW.








Oppai label claims their Hitomi Matsumoto (aka Mozuku and Yumi Miyaoka) sets records in the bust department, but she is most obviously recognizable as an incredibly gorgeous BBW.







This year's games wind down with a four-part offering on a Wagnerian scale from another earlier Japanese BBW figure, Anna Watarai at left. And we conclude at the right with one of the grandest finales of all time, from the same model.
