Pocharina

As I continue to poke around and figure out how to use Twitter, one of the new sites I've been following is a soapland called Pocharina (ポチャリーナ), and its bevy of busty babes. As will be seen from the images I've culled from their posts and sites, their style looks similar to that of the late, lamented "Max Body". That site's images were accused by fans of being Photoshopped. And, as I stated with regards to that site: If they are, I don't care. The images are simply lovely themselves. I'm never going to meet one of these ladies, or visit one of these institutions. So I am perfectly happy with these lovely fantasies, if that's what they are. But enough dithering around. Let's get to the main course:

Oh nuuurse!... Fuyutsuki aka Marimo Momoi aka Marimo Kitani

First on the menu we see Fuyutsuki (冬月), who stands 154 cm tall, wears a 130cm L-cup bra, and has a 120cm hip measurement.

"Tamaki" is an illustrious given name in the annals of Japanese erotic entertainment. Tamaki Katori was star of "Flesh Market", officially the first Pink Film, making her, officially, the first Japanese porn starlet. Readers of this blog will no doubt know the other great "Tamaki"-- Tamaki Yasuoka, surely a strong contender for the greatest Japanese BBW actress.

Fuku-Fuku

I haven't researched the early days of Pink for a while, and spent much of my online weekend doing so. That, of course, means I had no time to do a video review this week. I've been working through the Japan section of the World Filmography 1967, which purports to list every film made in the world in 1967. Since the Japanese Pink film was looked down on for a long time, but this book did cover them, it was a valuable resource for information on these films since its publication in 1977. It still has information that no other source does, at least in English. While contributing some of this information to IMDb, I searched around online and discovered a lot of new posters and stills of Pink films from the 1963-1967 era, which I promptly added to my early Pink film database and IMDb when they had entries for the films. Though very satisfying work-- I love to find new information on old Japanese Pink films!-- that ate up most of Sunday's video review time. I also found a lot of info on some early Adult film magazines which I'll do a post on eventually. These cover Pink films, actresses and directors of the '60s and early '70s.

Among the discoveries were several posters to very early Pink films from Sôjirô Motoki, who was the producer of such classics as Seven Samurai, Ikiru and Throne of Blood. Japanese porn has a very noble pedigree! Anyway, in place of the video review, let's take a quick visit to a Soapland. I first started working on this post in March of 2013, and it has been in the works for so long that most of the links are now dead. I'll keep them here for historical information-- maybe someone who wants to can track them down in some archive service. Our venue of choice tonight is the Osaka big-boob/BBW establishment Fuku-fuku. More and more I note that Osaka seems to be the place to be if you're looking for Japanese BBWs. Though Fuku-fuku advertises itself as a "big boob" service, a quick look at their list of ladies shows that the BBW form is better represented there than boobs per se.

Miwako (美和子) is the first lovely I noted in my preparations for this post, and her profile is now a dead link. Her blog doesn't seem to offer much as far as images, but fortunately I copied her statistics before they were removed. She was 41 years old, 152 cm tall, weighing 98kg with measurements of 135(K)-116-129.

Yuzuha's profile is still up, as of this posting. She is 34 years old, 150cm tall, weighing 102kg with measurements of 131(H)-111-123.

Sae (咲恵), 37 years old, standing 160 cm, with a 132(K)-89-118 figure, weighs 89 kg.

Her blog offers a wealth of cleavage shots, but nothing more identifying as far as face or even a full look at her boobs...

A search on the text in the image above left (こでまり 咲恵 - Kodemari Sae) turned up this profile at Hime Channel which seemed to be an earlier appearance of the same Sae (she is 33 years old in the profile). The cleavage in the image looks the same, and it gives us a little better look at her face...

The now-gone Megumi (めぐみ) also maintained a blog, but it didn't offer any pictures. She was reported as 28 years old, 153cm tall, weighing a slight 78kg, with measurements of 130(K)-89-105.

Sorry for another quickie post, and for missing another video review, I'm getting a lot of Pink film work done, and good work on this blog is being done nevertheless. For one thing, I have figured out how to add subtitle tracks to videos. I'm not sure if this is something people would want for the straight porno JAVs, but I'm able to do it now... I think it could be used for something, but I wonder exactly what for... reviews?... commentary?... jokes?... translations?...  (Though my Japanese probably isn't good enough to translate a whole video.) Also, I am acquiring a lot of incredibly great videos during this time. I have some new, very impressive BBW AVs to review-- like the scrumptious babe Maya Kashiwagi in ICD-213 above-- so keep watching!

Pocha Pocha 3 (Heavy & King-Weight)

The big news at IMDb is thatthe Pink Film Award page now contains my first successful submission: Best Director winner os 2014-- Mototsugu Watanabe. It is also listed on his page of awards. Dumb-ass that I am, Watanabe did not win Best Director this year-- he just directed the Best Picture. Yutaka Ikejima is Best Director this year... So I'm going to have to fix that screw-up. But, anyway, there is hope for this page after all! I'm considering whether to go ahead and enter all the Best Directors since 1988 first, or to do each year thoroughly later.

I finally finished adding the images to Pink film posters and DVD/VHS covers that I had acquired in the process of acquiring video files. That took much longer than I anticipated-- nearly a week-- but then I have been collecting video files for over half a year now. I'm going to have to make watching these movies a daily routine. I've enjoyed a very good percentage of those that I have watched, and look forward to seeing them all. Even ones that I have been dubious about watching-- the Angel Guts series, for example-- due to themes like sadism that don't appeal to me, have impressed me with their low-budget cinematic artistry.

Ichijo's Wet Lust (1972)

Thursday night I watched writer-director Tatsumi Kumashiro's Ichijo's Wet Lust (一条さゆり　濡れた欲情 - Ichijô Sayuri: Nureta yokujô;1972). Like the other Kumashiro Roman Pornos I've seen, my immediate impression... well, 15 minutes or so into the film... was, "I'm going to have to watch this again to understand what's going on." I don't mean that as a put-down... Kumashiro's films are highly-regarded by the critics, but I wonder what the audiences of dirty old men thought at the time. Here we have, basically, a sex movie, but it demands repeated viewing. At about the half hour mark, the impression I had was, "This is a very great film." I was very emotionally involved, but not completely sure why. For one thing-- and of interest to this blog-- though the younger girl, Hiroko Isayama as Harumi, gets the main focus of the film, but Ichijo Sayuri-- the real-life stripper on whose life the film is based-- is a very sexy woman. Buxom for the time, but also intelligent and just plain sexy, she does some very exciting Red Peony-type routines on stage.

The World of Geisha (1973)

Friday I saw The World of Geisha (四畳半襖の裏張り - Yojôhan fusuma no urabari;1973), and it really converted me to the greatness of Kumashiro. This one also requires me to watch it again-- and to do some more reading into Japanese history-- before I can make any meaningful comments on it, but it's obviously a very, very good film. Like Ichijo's Wet Lust, there is a political subtext to its eroticism. Ichijo makes points about the hypocrisy of contemporary Japanese censorship, while Geisha goes back to comment on the beginnings of Japan's disastrous military expansion in the early 20th century. It follows the lives of women in a geisha house about 1918-1920, when the military is just starting to cause some real mischief in the region. (With that theme, it brings to mind Nagisa Ôshima's later, internationally-celebrated In the Realm of the Senses (1976). I think this little-known "Roman Porno" is every bit as good as that film, without the shock-value.) The last scene is truly extraordinary. A dumpy soldier has just received orders to go fight in Siberia, to his almost certain death. He has to report to duty in five minutes, or be shot. He uses that time for a last, tearful quickie with the dumpy geisha with whom he had had plans to marry and settle down on a farm. A rich playboy overhears their pathetic love-making and is inspired to engage in a meaningless quickie with the geisha he is with. It's very funny, very sad, poignant, and deeply moving all at once. How many "porno" films make you wipe away a tear? Bravo, Kumashiro!

Street of Joy (1974)

Saturday night I saw Street of Joy aka Red Light District: Gonna Get Out (赤線玉の井　ぬけられます - Akasen tamanoi: Nukeraremasu; 1974). As with the other two, this one dealt with Japan's world of erotic entertainment. In this case, the story was set at a brothel in  1955-- the last year of legal prostitution. It was a good, solid film, with lots of Kumashiro's style apparent, but it didn't impress me as much, on first viewing, as the previous two. Kumashiro's main actress in all three films was Junko Miyashita, who is a great actress, but not my type-- too thin. There was a funny bit in the movie about one of the hookers trying to break the record for most tricks in one day, then getting a drunk customer who couldn't get it up... pretty good, but not as great as the previous two: Seven stars out of ten.

On Monday night, for my last sampling of Pink cinema for the week, I tried a change of pace, and went with something from good old wacky Hisayasu Sato: Chikan densha: Iyarashii koui or Birthday (1993). His films became so notoriously unpopular among the regular dirty-old-man pink film audience that he had to start using aliases when he directed. He directed this film under the name Hisakazu Hata. Sato actually has plenty of sex in his films, whereas with Kumashiro's films-- which were very popular-- I sometimes forgot I was watching a sex film. This film was made 20 years after the Kumashiro films though, and I guess there could have been an increased expectation for sex. This was the first of Sato's films I've seen that I didn't care much for. Thematically it reminded me somewhat of of Kôji Wakamatsu's celebrated 1969 pink film, Go, Go Second Time Virgin-- two alienated teenagers meditating on life and death between bouts of sex. It also had a few motifs I recognized in Sato's own, later, better Sukebe-zuma: otto no rusu ni or Rafureshia (1995). The screenplay was by Yutaka Ikejima's wife, Kyôko Godai. Films she has written for her husband have his more populist style, while this one for Sato is as elusive, arcane, and introspective as most of Sato's work, though considerably toned down in terms of violence and perversion. The story involves a boy alienated by his perverted family, who can only feel reality in 3-dimensions when he's seeing it through a camera, and a girl who plans to blow herself up on her 20th birthday... spoilers aside, I was disappointed that this main plot point went nowhere-- after all that anticipation, the dynamite turns out to be a dud... Star Yumika Hayashi was a legend in the Pink film / AV world, who died tragically after drinking too much celebrating her own birthday. She was very pretty, and is quite cute in this film, but too skinny and girlish for my taste. Sato's other main leading lady in other films-- Kanako Kishi (岸加奈子)-- was also skinny, and rather homely, though a very captivating actress. I guess this fits in with Sato's geeky-intellectual aesthetic... but enough of that... let's get into the big, earthy, happy and chubby girls that you and I enjoy so well!

Marina Jônouchi

Let's finish the survey of the Pocha Pocha site we started last week. First in the "Heavy" class is AV idol Marina Jônouchi as "Watanabe". She has appeared for the soapland before, and her scheduled appearance this time is still not certain. She's reported to be 23 years old currently and with a top measurement of 150cm P-cup, and 120cm in the hips.

Sara Aikawa

I'm surprised that big-butt AV star, Sara Aikawa, with her 140(K)-101-171 measurements, is classified as a mere Heavy, rather than a King-sized BBW. 25-year-old Sara, a favorite of fans of big Japanese girls, is retiring and moving to Osaka to give customers a chance to sample her charms.

Miyabi Hayama

"Heavy" girl Miyabi Hayama was already noted at the Pocha Pocha site as appearing at the soapland CocoLulu. Her recently un-retired status gives us hope that, like many JAV performers, Sara Aikawa's retirement is only temporary. Miyabi's profile has been updated, and new pictures of this lovely lady are always worth taking a look at.

Noa Serizawa

23-year-old Noa Serizawa is one of my favorite BBW AV idols. She just made a few videos that I am aware of, in 2009-2010, so it's nice to see she's still around. Besides her King-sized 150(O-cup)-138cm figure, she's got a very cute face and atmosphere about her that I like a lot. Her boobs aren't that huge in the videos I've seen-- she's just a very cute, big girl-- so either she's had some work done, or-- more likely-- we're seeing some digital enhancement in these pictures.

She's one of those few really big girls (Iori Kuroki is another) who, for some reason, don't completely enthrall me... It's not the size per se, since Noa, Erika, Miyabi and Sara, above, are all among my favorites, and they're all big, big girls... something about their character, I guess... I don't know...

Pocha Pocha 2 (Little & Middle-Weight Divisions)

In my work in Japanese erotic cinema since my last post, I started out by updating the Models page at this blog-- linking the models' names to their Boobpedia page, and adding what statistics & external links I could. I then continued updating my Pink Film archive blogs-- adding images to posters and DVD covers for films I now have in my video collection, mostly thanks to the excellent blog My Duck is Dead, which I highly recommend for anyone who wants to see interesting, obscure, hard-to-find cult films. (See below, for one example: the poster to Katsuhiko Fujii's 1975 Roman Porno, Cruelty: Black Rose Torture, starring the eminently torture-able Naomi Tani, taking her licks this time from the Japanese military police. Just one of dozens of films I've known about since the '70s, and only now have a chance to see.) As usual, this updating project is turning out to be a major piece of work-- uploading new images, starting new entries, updating the IMDb links to images I'm replacing with better ones, etc.

In one possibly encouraging sign of progress on the Pink Film Award page at IMDb since I last reported, the overview page now lists "Best Director", though the one award I submitted in that category (Yutaka Ikejima in 2013) is not. I submitted "Best Picture" about a day earlier than Best Director, and it is still invisible. And once these are added, how do the yearly ceremonies, and information such as time and place of the ceremony get entered?... it's still all a mystery...

But, back to BBW-admiring mode, since we're in a soapland-visiting mood of late, let's drop in on another old favorite site. We first took a look at the Pocha Pocha site back in November. They have a wide enough selection that I think another look will be productive. It seems to provide a search engine for BBW Soaplands. Like Chichi no ya, which we visited on Sunday, Pocha Pocha divides its ladies into weight classes: Little, Middle, Heavy, and King. 

Kana

In the "Little" category, we have 27-year-old Kana, who is cute as a button. The shop's description of her mentions her resemblance to cutie-chubby comedienne Kanako Yanagihara (柳原加奈子), who, image searches indicate, may be worth a post eventually. Standing a mere 152cm (5'), Kana weighs 74kg (163lb), and sports measurements of 111(H)-80-91. Quite a juicy morsel indeed!

Our first helping of Middle-weight beauty is 18-year-old Wakana. She's a face-hider, but what we see of her 115(J)-72-100 frame is quite enticing.

Another Middle-weight, in what is at least her second appearance at this site (we noted her in November), is BBW AV idol, Sora Nanami, as "Uehara". 29 years old with spectacular 130(O)-71-110 measurements.

Momoka

I'm pretty sure we've seen Middle-weight Momoka in some AV performances. Her face is familiar, but I can't place her at the moment. She's a 23-year-old newcomer to the shop, and boasts a 138(M)-83-122 figure.

Nanami

27-year-old Middle-weight Nanami, with her 131(N)-?-100 measurements, gives another example of why I always say, if these images are digitally enhanced, I don't care. They're still lovely to behold!

Now that we're at the end of the Middle-weight class, let's break off here. There are enough lovelies in the Heavy- and King-weight divisions to amply fill out another post. And, since posting time is limited these days, let's hold them off till next time. I'm not making any promises, but I'll try to do a video review for Sunday!

5 Degrees of Pochari-tude: Chichi no ya

Greetings to all. My domestic trials continue, causing this post to go out a little late... Since my last post, most of my online work in the area of Japanese erotic entertainment has been towards getting my Nikkatsu / Pink film video files in order. In the process, I discovered that I had not yet acquired the easily-obtainable Naomi Tani / Masaru Konuma classic, Tattooed Flower Vase (1976). How this one slipped by me, I do not know, but I quickly filled in that gap in my collection.

Above is a sampling of that grande dame of Japanese erotic cinema in action in this film. She may not have the voluptuousness of today's BBW girls, but she was one of the bustiest of her day, and her performances are still second to none in Japanese erotic cinema-- or worldwide, as far as I'm concerned. I counted up the Nikkatsu Roman Porno films I have now for my viewing pleasure: 70 (and that's not counting true Pink films-- the non-Nikkatsu independent releases). I've seen a few, and enjoyed each one of them very much. I guess I'd better get busy watching them, reviewing them, and adding descriptions/reviews to IMDb. I might add reviews to my own Pink Film blogs similar to the ones I do here, and then put more concise/polished versions of them on IMDb. For some time I've been meaning to do this for the BBW JAVs I review here on this blog, but still haven't got around to it.

For tonight's trip to the fascinating world of Japanese BBW-dom, let's look in on a soapland site, which we haven't done for a while. Tonight's institution of big, beautiful Japanese womanhood is "Chichi no ya"-- or "Boob Shop". This club divides its girls into five degrees of "Pocchari" or "chubbiness". All the girls who interest me squeeze into degrees 3, 4, and 5. Let's take a look at two girls from each of these three categories.

Remu

Before taking our first step up the Pochari ladder, we might pause to note that, except for face-fogging, these images bear a striking resemblance to other shops (such as the now-defunct Glamorous D) which have been accused of airbrushing and otherwise enhancing their images. Since I am not a soapland client, and false-advertising doesn't affect me, my position on this issue is: They are lovely pictures, and they create lovely fantasies... if the reality is less glamorous, well, that doesn't affect me.
First-- above-- we have 25-year-old Remu, who, with her stunning 130(M)-80-113cm measurements stands 173cm (5'7") tall. The shop reports that this cute girl with a third-degree in Pochari-tude is their tallest, and has a pleasingly smiling personality.

Aya

Lovely, white-skinned 40-year old Aya is a more mature Category 3 pocchari girl. The fact that her equally impressive statistics of 125(M)-75-110(cm) are stacked onto a more compact 154cm (5'1") frame might help account for the awesome spectacle of her bazooms. But I suspect some digital enhancement is also involved.

Momoko

Taking a step up to a Degree 4 in chubbiness, we come upon Momoko. She has a very sexy air about her, in addition to the boobs, and incredible ass. Besides showing her face, her boobs do not appear to be digitally enhanced here. If anything, given the shop's promotion of her "foreigner style" butt, her lower regions may have been tampered with in the photo. In any case, her gravity-secure 113(J)-76-140(cm) figure is quite a sight to behold!

Maiko

Another 4th-level pocchari girl, Maiko is top- rather than bottom-heavy, a fact to which this shop newcomer's 127(M)-83-118(cm) measurements attest.

Erika

Moving up to Level 5, we come to two BBW AV stars in the shop's stable. First, everybody's favorite big girl, Erika puts her mind-boggling 150(Q)-85-120(cm) figure to work for the shop.

The shop reports that not only her stunning figure, but her pleasingly enthusiastic and accommodating personality have made her one of their most popular girls.

Juri Morozuki

Juri Morozuki is another AV-star Level 5 girl at the shop. Her smiling face and 131(L)-110-140(cm) attributes are more than up to the task of warming the cockles of any patron's heart.
