I finished submitting the rest of the 1992 Pink Films to IMDb today, capping off my work for that site for now. Since they've stopped accepting links to my Pink film poster images, I've lost the personal incentive to devote all my hobby time to them. For now it's on to working on my own Pink Film archives...

Tonight let's take a break from our full-figured, big girl obsession and broaden our horizons a little. I mentioned that I saw the Roman-Porno revival film, Housewife's Afternoon Delight (団地妻　昼下がりの情事 - Danchizuma: Hirusagari no jôji; 2010), a couple nights ago. This was part of a two-film attempted revival of the Roman Porno series by Nikkatsu. This film was a remake of the first film in the series, released in November 1971. As I've said before, I don't watch these Pink/Roman Porno films purely for erotic stimulation, as they rarely speak to my own particular fetishes. Once in a while a director will throw in a big/busty/chubby girl, usually more as a gimmick or joke, my eyes will pop out, and then she'll be gone... But usually, I enjoy these films more just as films: Low-budget, experimental quickies with an erotic theme. That said, I have to say this film really had no erotic interest for me. Not only were there no big girls, but-- I hate to say this-- I actually found the lead actress rather unattractive. Thin, homely, not particularly interesting as a character or personality in any other way... there just wasn't anything there for me...

Oddly too, there's a scene in the film where she and her lover discuss how very large her boobs are... though she really had nothing much in the chest area. It's polite, and stimulating, I know, to give each other compliments in bed, even if those compliments may be slight exaggerations. But this is a movie, after all. If the script calls for the lady to discuss the problem of being big-busted, well, at least hire a big-busted actress... And this film was made in 2010, not 1971, when standards were much more petite. Today girls of all sizes up to enormous can be found in Japanese DVDs & soaplands... some of whom would have loved to appear in a film, I'm sure...

The production values were high for a film of this genre, and the direction, cinematography, camerawork and other technical aspects were quite good. The film's story, however, was nothing special: A housewife has an affair with a door-to-door water filter salesman because her husband is always away at work... When the original was released, in 1971, the idea of a normal, average, middle-class housewife having an affair, and showing it semi-explicitly, was something refreshingly new and arousing. But today? Shock-wise, it actually pales in comparison to an old film noir like The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), and other than a little T&A, it's not really that much more explicit either.... There were a couple little odd tangents involving delinquent teenagers: A boy who knocks our heroine off her bike simply because she's a woman, and a couple of high-school girls who play on her humanity to trick her into taking off her panties so they can snap pictures of her with their cell-phone, berate her and slap her around... This stuff isn't done with any humor or other redeeming quality. It just makes you want to put your fist through the kids' faces, and certainly doesn't add to any kind of erotic mood...

One very nice bonus was the casting in this film of first-generation Pink/Roman-Porno icon, Kazuko Shirakawa-- star of the original, 1971 film. She plays the role of a neighbor, I believe. All these years later and she's still an attractive lady, and still going strong! More power to her! Here she is, above, with this film's director, Shun Nakahara, also a veteran of the original Roman Porno series.

Given the chance to direct this film instead of Nakahara-sensei, who would old Dekkappai cast? For the perfect housewife, I might head off to one of the BBW-specialist soaplands, Max-Body, or Glamorous D maybe, and look and look and look until I found a nice, comfy, motherly lady to fill the role... (A good deal of my film's budgeting would no doubt be spent in this endeavor.) I could certainly do worse, for example, than the lovely, smiling Momojiri Yuuka, aka Yumeka (桃尻 優香 / ゆめか), of Mucchiri, whom we see above. As a matter of fact, her profile at a review of this fine establishment says she's just made her AV debut, and her blog says she's even a fellow film buff! Pink Film industry, it's time for you to hop on this!
