JAMS at IMDb!

In the half-week since my last report, I have continued the first spark of enthusiasm over the BBW AV submissions to IMDb. I submitted data to all the JAMS DVDs I had already translated for Boobpedia. As a result of these DVD entries, the Japanese BBW/Busty ladies who now have new IMDb entries are:

Akane Sakuraba
Arisa Kurono
Statuesque Ayaka Yuzuki now graces IMDb's pages
Ayaka Yuzuki
Chiharu Nakasaki
Eiko Sakurada
Karen Tôdô
Mitsumi Nanao
Momoka Fukuyama
Momoka Tsukihara
Nao Kudô
Neiro Suzuka
Noa Serizawa at IMDb
Noa Serizawa
Nowa Ômori
Rei Tachibana
Reimi Fujinomiya
Riria Misaki
Everybody's favorite big mama, Tamaki Yasuoka, now at IMDb!
Tamaki Yasuoka
Yû Aizawa
Yûki Manaka
Yuma Mizushima
Yume Sazanami
Yurie Komiya
Reiko Nakamori, star of JAV and Pink film
One good thing about the JAMS series was that a couple girls already had entries at IMDb, and are therefore not just of BBW-AV specialist interest. And I do have fewer reservations about entering these Japanese adult videos into IMDb, because the Japanese adult video industry is far more mainstream than the American. Many adult video personnel also work in the softcore, and respectable, Pink film genre, and many Pink film personnel work in purely mainstream cinema-- Academy Award-winner Yôjirô Takita for one. Besides her JAMS work, Reiko Nakamori, for example, also appeared in director Daisuke Gotô's Chikan densha: Yure nureru sakuragai (2011) and Yutaka Ikejima's Hitozuma shôfu: Motto hazuka shimete (2012). Gotô and Ikejima are both major Pink film directors. So IMDb now has Reiko's proud early career working at JAMS with BBW-specialist directors Timio Juvorenup and Magllow in Kyûin fera-buster: Nikkan vacuum girl (2009) and Boin dôjô 2: chônyû bosei-hen (2009; with Tamaki Yasuoka). Ai Miyazaki and Reika Shinohara also already had a pages before I added their JAMS work.
Minagi Usagi, soon to have an IMDb page?
IZM and JAMS were probably the two main series that I did at Boobpedia, and so already had the credits translated and ready to go. I did a lot of other series, but not with so many big-name big girls, so they're probably the two most appropriate for IMDb. I might go on to the Pocha Pocha Princess Pretty series next, doing just the videos with major BBW stars, like Minagi Usagi. My next step in this AV project will be to make complete filmographies for the girls who interest me most. Tamaki Yasuoka, Karen Tôdô and Minagi Usagi will probably be my main subjects, then I'll probably concentrate more on Pink films again. I have been submitting as much personal data as I can, but IMDb has only been accepting bogs/sites (which is good), and height-- which isn't all that interesting. I learned years ago that they won't accept measurements, and now they are very reluctant even to take birthdays. One other aspect to this AV project is synopses and reviews. When I review a video here, I will probably boil it down and reword it to add to IMDb.

I was pleased at all the interest generated here by the mention of Sofia Rose on Sunday, since I think she's gorgeous. I have regained contact with her, and she's excited about her new page at IMDb. I'm preparing a list of interview questions for her about her career since last we spoke-- to update her Boobpedia page-- and on her experiences with IZM, the IZM girls, and Japan, to report on here at this blog.

IZM at IMDb!

I hope I'll be forgiven for skipping this week's video review. I'm all on fire with a new IMDb project, and don't want to take time out from it and lose my momentum. After starting an IMDb page for Sofia Rose (which now has links to her official site), by creating a page for her 2007 IZM DVD, I decided to take the first dive in my plan to start IMDb pages this year for some of our favorite Japanese BBWs. I worked through the entire IZM filmography that I had submitted to Boobpedia-- that is, all the busty releases from ICD-01 to ICD-173 (December 2005 - January 2012). In the process of entering these DVDs, pages were started for the major, BBW actresses who starred in them. I haven't been starting pages for ALL the IZM releases, just those of interest to myself and followers of this blog. Strangely enough, the pages for the actresses have been popping up fast, but the DVD releases have been slower. Usually it's the other way around at IMDb-- the film gets accepted quickly, but they're slow to start pages for people. Among the big, beautiful Japanese beauties who have pages started for them in the last few days were:
Now at IMDb: Airi Ai
Airi Ai
Alice Komuro
Chii Asahina
Erika
Giant Maho
Hiromi Kishikawa
Hiyoko Makino
Iori Kuroki
Jun Morikawa
Juri Morozuki
Juria Yuki
Now gracing IMDb: Konata Yûsei
Konata Yûsei
Koron Kanzaki
Kurumi Toyoda
Kyôko Kusanagi
Love Fujishiro
Madam Keiko
Maika Sakura
Marimo Momoi
Maron Maju
Masae Ômori
Masaki Amamiya
Mei Kayama
Miyabi Hayama
Moe Asakura
Momoka Hayama
Nano Rikukawa
Naoko Ôsako
Purin Momoaya
Ran Yamagishi
Reo Sakuragi
Riria Misaki now at IMDb!
Riria Misaki
Rui Ôhashi
Ruki Shibuya
Saki Rukawa
Sakura Toyohara
Satsuki Anzai
Serina
Shizuka Kyôno
Shôko Ishida
Shokora Minami
Yôka Mizushima
Yuria Kizuki
Yû Hazawa
Yui Igarashi
Yuzu Kawai
And the directors Ryudai and Magi. Also, of course, IZM itself has a page started.
Iori Kuroki's IMDb page, already substantial
You'll notice some of these pages already have some basic actress information-- links to homepages/blogs, and Iori Kuroki even has her height. Though I am amazed at how fast IMDb took these submissions-- it used to take about a week to get a new name on the site-- unfortunately, they remain very reluctant to take personal information. Birth/death days even with good sources are often rejected.

It was a lot of work, but since I had already collected and translated all the info for Boobpedia, it went a lot faster than it would have otherwise. I should update the IZM filmography at Boobpedia, but first I'll do a few other series: Maguro, JAMS, etc.

Karen Toudou: First in the second part of this project
What's exciting about this stage of my IMDb inputting hobby is that the IMDb is a good, reliable, mainstream source for information on the entertainment industry, so now the names of these rather niche-interest Japanese BBW beauties are available to a wider audience, and, hopefully, somewhat immortalized by being part of a major site. Eventually I'd like to put up some reviews on the DVDs, and some mini-biographies for the girls at IMDb. My only regret is that I haven't yet got to some of my favorite non-IZM babes yet. Tomorrow I plan on starting on JAMS, so you're coming up next, Tamaki Yasuoka, Yuuki Manaka, and Karen Toudou (already started her!)!!!

Sloooowly I Turned, Step By Step, Inch By Inch...

The day's highlight of Boobpedian eroticism was the release of a few new pics from Tamaki Yasuoka's new DVD, WZA-04. I share one with my readership of Tamaki-san in a sultry mood, with expressionistic lighting, at left. Rather film noir-ish, actually...

I submitted the following to IMDb today:
1979-11-23 Porn Documentary: Afternoon Climax (ポルノドキュメント 昼下りの絶頂 - Porn document: Hirusagari no zecchô) (Genji Nakamura; Watanabe Pro / Nikkatsu
1979-09-08 Scandal: Pleasure Skin (スキャンダル 悦楽の肌 - Scandal: Kairaku no hada) (Banmei Takahashi; Den'ei / Nikkatsu
1979-08-14 Shojo o Hagu (処女を剥ぐ) [Seinen Gunzô] dir: Seiji Izumi (Seiji Izumi (I) Seinen Gunzô / Million Films
1979-10-02 Toruko gômon: Monzetsu (トルコ拷問 悶絶) [Seinen Gunzô] dir: Kô Hayasaka; Seinen Gunzô / Million Films
1979-08 Uraban jokôsei (裏バン女高生) Shintoho Company dir: Kaoru Umezawa
1979-06-02 Watashi wa osowaretai! (私は襲われたい!(Kinya Ogawa; Den'ei / Nikkatsu)
1979-08-04 Widow's Boarding House: Fuck and Escape (未亡人下宿 のり逃げ - Mibôjin geshuku: Norinige) (Shinya Yamamoto ; Taiheiyô Eiga / Nikkatsu)
1979-02-03 Yobai: Dote sagashi (夜這い どてさがし) (Minoru Inao; Taiheiyô Eiga / Nikkatsu / Shishi Productions)
1978-02-04 Dirty Beautician (好色美容師 - Kôshoku biyoshi) [Watanabe Pro - Watanabe Pro ] (Genji Nakamura; Watanabe Pro / Nikkatsu)
1978-04-15 Office Lady's Perverted Sisters: Upper Lips Lower Lips (OL痴女姉妹 上唇下唇 - OL chijo shimai: Uwa-kuchibiru shita-kuchibiru) (Genji Nakamura; Watanabe Pro / Nikkatsu).

And the following went live at IMDb today:
Ranjuku joshi-daisei (Genji Nakamura, 1979)
Semi document: Nise fujin-ka-i (Banmei Takahashi, 1979)
16-sai no koukishin: Onna ni shite! (Kaoru Umezawa, 1978)
Zetsurin Toruko mansion: Mitsugi (Kô Hayasaka, 1979)
Ganbare chikan: Yubi zeme (Shinya Yamamoto, 1978)
Osasuri hentai musume (Nakamura, 1978)
Hatsujô apaato: Rangyou shûdan (Minoru Inao, 1978)
Jokôsei maruhi seihanzai (Umezawa, 1979)
Kinbaku joshi gakusei (Takahashi, 1978).

My evening entertainment consisted of the surprisingly enjoyable Niagara Falls (1941), starring Slim Summerville and Zasu Pitts. This was the second film in the "streamliner" format Hal Roach was experimenting with at the time. At 43 minutes, it's either a long short film (as IMDb has it), or short feature. I was surprised to like it because, stylistically, it falls into the "screwball" comedy genre, which I have never cared for. (Note my scathing review of My Man Godfrey a few weeks ago.) And, true, I found the real "screwball" element-- the young couple played by Marjorie Woodworth and Tom Brown-- to be the least enjoyable part of the film. But Summerville & Pitts (especially Summerville) make up for it when they are on screen. Among other top-flight Roach personnel not listed in the credits, I noticed one of Laurel and Hardy's best supporting players, Charley Hall. I note, approvingly, that IMDB does list Hall, as "uncredited". Oh My God! "Truth"! "Original Research"! Bah. If any of those crackpots at Wikipedia knew anything about how a real encyclopedia is written, they wouldn't be at Wikipedia...

As you can see at left, Slim Summerville sure was a funny-looking old fart. Long nose, pouty face, sad eyes... According to his obit, good old Edgar Kennedy discovered him, and, like many of the best supporting comedic actors of his time-- Kennedy included-- he started out as a Keystone Kop. This film dates from the time he was being paired with Zasu Pitts, and they make a nice couple. Summerville's given fourth billing in the poster above, but he is by far the main reason this film is enjoyable.

A Life at Stake

I'm in the middle of changing gears in the Munekyunkissa project. I finished up the main ALB- / Busty Amateur Nakadashi 10-film template list articles and main article for the series last night. I also did more preparation for the Actress-bio stage of the project. This morning I worked out some final bugs in the skeleton file, and started one bio: Aimi Sakamoto. My evening session was spent starting bio stubs for the rest of the list of Busty Amateur Nakadashi series DVDs: 001 - 010. I got all but one started-- couldn't find enough info on that one... All the actresses in the first 10 DVDs have been of pretty actresses, certainly, but of non-Dekkappedlian proportions. Skinny, model-pretty.. I do like the chubby girls... I'll no doubt go to a more BBW-centric project after this one-- MAGURO maybe (our much-admired Yuuki Manaka is featured on the cover of MAGURO-014 at left)-- or updates on other big-girl labels like JAMS or IZM...

I spent most of my afternoon BP session adding new actress bio-stubs started by other editors to the List of Big Breasted Japanese AV Actresses. That list was one of the first things I started at Boobpedia, and, not long after it had been added, the founder of the project told me it was one of the most-viewed pages at the site. This list actually started from a list of Japanese AV Actresses that was deleted at Wikipedia back when I first got suckered into contributing there-- 2006. One of the popular reasons for deleting things in those days was because they were "unsourceable". "How do we even know these people exist?" So, before it was deleted, with the intent of restoring the list, I saved it for myself and spent my free hours sourcing every entry I could, and removing the very few I couldn't. By the time I had it all sourced, I had come to realize that, of course, the ruling class at Wikipedia just plain didn't want that kind of information there, but they won't say so openly. They have to do lip-service to "Not censored / not biased / neutral point of view" and all those other lies. This all applies only to the English Wikipedia, of course. Japanese Wikipedia still stays true to the spirit under which Wikipedia was founded-- the honest presentation of information-- and so, like any project claiming to aspire to "the sum of human knowledge", they do have hundreds of articles on these models who have appeared in internationally-distributed media. Japanese Wikipedia's problem is that its users rarely cite their sources-- and yet I have found JWiki to be almost always correct in its information-- information that would be / is banned at English Wiki. When I finally had had enough of the garbage at Wikipedia, I considered just staying full-time at JWiki. My Japanese isn't good enough (to say the least) to contribute text, but I could have provided citations to back up unsourced facts. But the same problem which ruined English Wiki still looms at JWiki: There are no real policies, no set-in-stone statement that X is allowed here, and Y is not. Style X is used here, Style Y is not. There are no policies and no authorities. It's all in flux, up for non-stop argument, and subject to change either through the interpretation by anonymous users, or the complete making up from scratch of policies by anonymous users. For anyone there to contribute information, it's a recipe for disaster, one that has come true at English Wikipedia, and could (probably eventually will) happen at the other Wikis. If I did take the time to cite all that information, any one or group could come along and say, "Any source that covers subject X is not a 'reliable source'" and then delete it. This has happened at English Wiki. Contributing to any Wiki that does not openly state "We cover X, but not Y", is a waste of time. Anyway, when Boobpedia was started, I picked out the "Busty" entries and gave the list to that fine project. Wikipedia's loss.

Meanwhile, back at IMDb, it turned out Sharp had nothing much to say about Sex semi dokyumento: Renzoku fujo bôkôma-- which I've been holding off on submitting-- except to cite it as a typical misogynistic rape pinku, with the slightly odd fact that one of the main actresses-- Rumi Tama-- was the step mother of the director-- Seiji Izumi. So I went ahead and submitted it today. I see one of my previously-submitted articles has gone live: Poruno repôto: Bôkô-ma (1976). I made a fair amount of new submissions today also: Blue film no Onna: Chissoku (ブルーフィルムの女 ちっそく; Genji Nakamura; Genji Production; 1978-11), Chikan genkôhan (痴漢現行犯; Giichi Nishihara; Shintoho Company; 1978-10), Chikan kakueki teisha: Ossan nani surun'ya (痴漢各駅停車 おっさん何するんや; Minoru Inao; Shintoho Company; 1978-05), Chikan saishû densha (痴漢最終電車; Minoru Inao; Shintoho Company; 1978-08), Chikan waisetsu kôen (痴漢ワイセツ公園; Minoru Inao; Shintoho Company; 1978-11), Chikan yokochô joshi ryô mae (痴漢横丁女子寮前; Tadashi Yoyogi; Watanabe Pro / Nikkatsu; 1978-12-02), and Nuresugita mesuneko (濡れすぎた牝猫 / 濡れた牝猫; Banmei Takahashi; Takahashi Pro; 1979-07-10).

My evening's entertainment continued the survey I started unintentionally a couple nights ago of Angela Lansbury's film noir/femme fatale career. This one was A Life at Stake (1954). It was almost as good, not quite, as the last one. Fine acting from all the leads helped this one quite a bit. Besides Ms. Lansbury, the major roles were taken by Keith Andes as her lover/possible victim, Douglass Dumbrille as her elderly, but spry, husband, and Claudia Barrett as her shy and goodhearted (and much more attractive in my eye) younger sister. Even the minor characters had memorable and capable performers such as Ma Joad herself-- Jane Darwell. Paul Guilfoyle's directing was competent, but this one was flawed by budget and screenplay. Lansbury's motivations were never quite clear: Was she really in love with Andes, and cheating on her husband with him? Or was she working with her husband to seduce Andes and bump him off for insurance money? This question could have been used to create suspense, but instead it was just confusing. We never really know, even after the scheming couple meet their untimely end... Still, it was an entertaining little thriller. If you need a painless way to spend 75 minutes, check it out for yourself at the Internet Archive.

Cleanliness is Next to Boobliness

A recent post at the Hyperedge Blog shares new images from gorgeous Karen Toudou's new DVD, QDN-17. At left we see Karen getting into the bath with some lucky guy. The two images below show Ms. Karen displacing a rather substantial amount of the bath. Our protagonist, being a gentleman, nevertheless generously makes room for the lady, and then even helps her with her ablutions. The left boob is as good a place to start as any, isn't it, ma'am?...

I set up the template for the ALB- (Munekyunkissa) actress bios last night, in preparation for the next stage in that project. I started the main article for the series this morning, then three of the templated 10-DVD filmographies, finishing with List of Busty Amateur Nakadashi series DVDs: 021 - 030. Because of the difficulty the server has with these film templates we use in the DVD articles, we have to limit the amount that can be contained on any one page, making the awkward smaller filmography pages necessary... I spent the afternoon session organizing a bit: Adding categories for the Munekyunkissa DVDs & actresses, and sub-categories to the BOINBB sub-lists.

I see a few of my new IMDb film submissions from a few days ago have gone live: Kôkishin Fujin (1975), Semi-dokyumento: Shinjû sex go jû-nen-shi (1975), Semi-document: Bôsô sex shûdan (1976), Shin mibôjin geshuku: Oku no ma kashimasu (1975), Semi-dokyumento: Otoko isari (1975), Suke komashi gundan (1978; still waiting for one cast member to be approved), Kan'in no zange: Aru gôtô no shuki (1976), Nureta kaben no sanshimai (1976), Osanazuma: Shoya no wananaki (1976; waiting for two cast members), and Poruno repôto: Bôkô-ma (1976). Another one: Sex semi dokyumento: Renzoku fujo bôkôma (1975) is ready to submit, but I first want to look through Jasper Sharp's book. I think he mentions this one a few times, and he might have some useful information to add. I did some updating to my list of information for IMDb submissions. I added raw data from JMDb, which I will have to translate and reformat. That was quite a lot of work, but I did have time to submit one film: Bôkô: Yadosu (暴行 宿す; Kaoru Umezawa - as Kaoru Higashimoto; Shintoho Company; 1978-08).

The Man on the Eiffel Tower

I started four ALB- stubs in the morning starting with Mikuru Shiina in Also, My Girlfriend Is My Brother's Daughter: Azusa (November 2011; ALB-126) and finishing with the lovely Yuri Shirasaki in 108cm Bouncing Big Boobs with an Erect Clit: Kozue (November 2011; ALB-129). Shirasaki has appeared in the "Pocha Doll" series (yet to make an appearance at Boobpedia), and here she is, on the left, in a DVD for MAGURO-- one of the DVD series I've got to start on once the ALB- project is finished.

I've been neglecting my work at IMDb in favor of Boobpedia, so I spent my afternoon session adding three Pink films: Kaoru Higashimoto's Kôkishin Fujin (1975) Nihon Cinema / Shintoho Company, Shin'ya Yamamoto's Semi-dokyumento: Shinjû sex go jû-nen-shi (1975) Watanabe Pro / Nikkatsu; and Genji Nakamura's Semi-document: Bôsô sex shûdan / Semi-Documentary: Runaway Sex Gang (Weisser's title) (1976) Watanabe Pro / Nikkatsu. Pink films and Roman Porno are often said to be separate entities: Pink films were produced and released outside of the big studio system, while Roman Pornos were produced and released by the big studio, Nikkatsu. However, the latter two titles mentioned were of that interesting variety of Pink film which was independently-produced, but released by Nikkatsu as a third-bill for its Roman Porno series. So they are both Pink films and Roman Pornos.

Last evening's entertainment was a glimpse at Burgess Meredith's The Man on the Eiffel Tower (1949). Unlike with Walter Matthau a few weeks ago (Gangster Story; 1959), Meredith's directing was quite good. Possibly even better than his acting role: a poor, near-sighted knife-sharpener who is framed for murder. This character, naturally, brought to mind Meredith's classic Henry Bemis character in the Twilight Zone episode, "Time Enough at Last" (1959), though, unliked Bemis, this guy just wasn't very likeable. Charles Laughton plays Inspector Maigret, and he's always a joy to behold, though a little exaggerated-- cartoony-- in this one. Franchot Tone as the main bad guy is an overly-self-impressed, manipulative, condescending yet incompetent, arrogant sociopath. In other words, he's the kind of guy who accumulates power in real life, and fucks things up for the rest of us. He would be warmly welcomed into the august ranks of Wikipedia's deletionists and administrators. And like them, he turns out to be full of hot air when the chips are down and it comes time to live up to his word-- jump off the Eiffel Tower in this case. He surrenders to the police and eventually leaves us instead with an unsatisfactory off-screen government-approved beheading... The acting and directing were fine in this one, as was the scenery and cinematography, but it still came out not very good... I suppose it was the screenplay's fault. Despite some similarities to Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train (1951) it was a fairly routine inspector story.

Obviously I've been thoroughly enjoying these Mill Creek boxes, but I will have to say this is one film where the cheapness... er, affordability... of Mill Creek damages the quality of the viewing experience. First, this film was in color, and like most old color films in public domain presentation, it looked much worse than contemporary black & whites. The colors were washed out and drab, and the film had many scratches-- not so annoying in B&W for some reason. Considering a good deal of the quality in this film lies in the photography of Paris, this is a major draw-back. Also, the copy used in this box had so many skips it was sometimes difficult to follow the dialog, which was muffled even at best. Oh well-- if you pay $10 for 50 movies, you're bound to have a clunker or two... Still not an entirely wasted experience. The direction and the acting somewhat make up for the other weaknesses, earning it Six stars out of Ten from me.

Tonight I finally finished uploading all my current Pink film posters to the blog-- the Pre-1990 Pink Film blog. Now I'll have to go back and do some catching up-- identify and download the new posters that have been posted to my online sources, and to clean up and then upload the posters I set aside for later work. Also there is a huge collection of smaller (160px wide) posters from the Nakamura Eigeki site which I will have to sort through, identify, sort, and eventually upload. Adding descriptions to the Picasa Web images will be a long, long project, and then linking them to IMDb... Anyway, stage one, started in October, is now officially complete.

Moving On to Pink Film Archive & IMDb!

Posting here over the past month has been fun and given me ideas on what can and can't be done in this format. As mentioned earlier, I'll be cutting back on Wiki-type work after the first month of October, and with that, posting at this Boobpedia blog will dwindle. Still I'll plan on posting the occasional essay whenever I come across a new discovery to share here and at BP.

My next project is to upload the Pink film poster images I've accumulated and identified over the years while working on the subject at Wikipedia and Eigapedia. Dekkappai's Pink Film Archive is the first step in that project. (I'm hoping Blogspot allows thousands of posts/images, because that's what it's going to take.) Step two will be adding the info on these films to IMDb, where I've been contributing to the subject sporadically, but quite successfully over the past couple years. (I had to chuckle when I read the message at IMDb on adding new films, along the lines of, "We already have almost every feature film ever released, your new one is probably already here." Well, IMDb, you've barely scratched the surface of the fascinating world Pink film... So, allow me to introduce you to about 100 films a year you've overlooked...)

IMDb will be a better place for this information than the so-called "encyclopedic" Wikipedia and Wikia. Not only is IMDb-- despite what Wikipedia claims-- a much more "reliable" source, because it checks all information before adding it, it doesn't allow any fool to edit it. No one edits it except for IMDb staff. We submit data with sourcing for their consideration, and then they add or reject it. At Wikipedia, where "anyone" can edit, people who are opposed to certain topics come there simply to remove that information, no matter how well sourced. Unless you want to spend most of your time fighting to keep legitimate information in, you are wasting your time contributing there... One drawback to IMDb is that it charges to add posters to their pages, so I won't be doing that. But I'll link to the posters in my new blog at external links at the IMDb page. I've already got a few Pink film posters from 1967/68 linked to another poster image album of mine which never went very far. Those posters are very tame compared with the recent ones. I'll go in with the understanding that they'll probably reject most of the poster links, but at least the info will be there, and the posters will be in my Archive, searchable in English, for anyone curious. I'll continue adding to Boobpedia whenever inspiration and/or new models strike. And I leave you for now with one of the loveliest of Japanese BBW models, one who looks as good coming as she does going: The sublime Tamaki Yasuoka in two images from the DVD MAGURO-008. Tamaki-san, the relish is ready if you've got a nonce to spare for some flippin'!
